How to Use the Bypassing Feature on Hills/DAS/NX Reliance Alarm Systems

Bypassing allows you to temporarily exclude one or more protected zones, for example, if you need to leave a pet in a normally protected area. To bypass zones, follow these steps when the system is in the disarmed state:

Bypassing Individual Zones

  1. Press the [BYPASS] key (the bypass light will flash).
  2. Enter a 2-digit code for the zone you wish to bypass (e.g. [0][4] for zone 4, [0][5] for zone 5). The corresponding light for that zone will turn on when bypassed.
  3. Press the [BYPASS] key again.

If a user code is required to bypass zones, you will need to enter a valid code after step 1 and before step 2. Contact your security installation company to confirm this requirement.

Group Bypassing

You can also bypass all designated group bypass zones by following these steps:

  1. Press the [BYPASS] key (the bypass light will flash).
  2. Press [0][0] keys. The group bypass zone lights will turn on when bypassed.
  3. Press the [BYPASS] key again.

If a user code is required for group bypass, you will need to enter a valid code after step 1 and before step 2. Contact your security installation company to confirm this requirement.

Upon disarming the system following an armed state with bypass active, any temporarily bypassed zones will be reset and protected again.

To un-bypass zones, follow the bypassing steps for that zone. The corresponding light for the un-bypassed zone will turn off.
