Creating Users to SmartPSS

Overview

In this guide, we'll go over how to create and manage users and roles in SmartPSS 2.0.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click on the "User" tab.


Creating a Role

1. Click on the "Add Role" button.



2. In the "Role Info" menu that appears, enter the following information:

  1. Role Name: a name for the role
  2. Remark: a description of the role (optional)
  3. Menu Rights: select which menu rights you want to allow for this role using the checkboxes
  4. Channel Rights: set specific device rights for the role (optional)


3. Click "Save" to create the role.

Creating a User

1. Click on the "User" tab.


2. Click on the "Add User" button.


3. In the "User Info" menu that appears, enter the following information:

  1. User Name: a name for the user (must be unique)
  2. Role: select the role for this user from the drop-down menu
  3. Password: enter and confirm a password for the user (the password strength will be indicated by a 3-bar meter)
  4. Remark: a description of the user (optional)
  5. Menu Rights: select which menu rights you want to allow for this user using the checkboxes
  6. Channel Rights: set specific device rights for the user (optional)


4. Click "Save" to create the user.
