How to Fix a Bosch Solutions 16 Alarm System That Won't Arm

If you are having trouble arming your Bosch Solutions 16 alarm system, there are a few steps you can try before contacting tech support.

Bypassing Zones

Sometimes it is necessary to bypass certain zones of your alarm system when it is being armed. For example, you may need to bypass zones where workers are conducting renovations.
To bypass a zone, follow these steps:
  1. Press the star (*) button twice.
  2. Select the zones you wish to bypass by pressing the corresponding zone numbers.
  3. Press the star (*) button to save the bypassed zones.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional zone you want to bypass.
  5. Press the hash (#) button.
  6. The keypad will beep twice to confirm that the zones have been bypassed.
Keep in mind that bypassed zones will be cleared the next time the system is disarmed.
Fire zones cannot be bypassed.

Forcing the Alarm to Arm

In some cases, it may be necessary to force the alarm to arm without waiting for all zones to close. This is known as "force arming." To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Press the hash (*) button.
  2. Wait for two beeps.
  3. The AWAY LED/LCD segment will illuminate, and the exit delay will begin.
Force arming is often used when a motion detector is located near the keypad. For example, if you are arming the system from within a force zone, the system will allow you to arm even if the zone is open. Once the zone closes, the system will arm it.
