Important Information Regarding the Closure of the 3G Network
As technology advances, networks become obsolete and service providers eventually phase them out. In line with this, Telstra and Optus have
both announced that they will be shutting down their 3G networks. This
means that customers who are still using 3G communicators to connect
their alarm to the monitoring centre will need to upgrade their alarm
communicator.
The
Telstra 3G network will be switched off on 30 June 2024, and the Optus
3G network will be switched off from September 2024. This means that if
your security alarm monitoring system is still connected to the 3G
network, it will no longer work after these dates. To ensure that your
security alarm monitoring continues to work, you will need to upgrade to
a 4G cellular communicator.
Upgrading
your security alarm monitoring system is an important step that will
help to keep your property safe and secure. Here are some things you
need to know:
Check
if your security alarm monitoring system is still using the 3G network.
If you are not sure, contact us, and we'll be able to tell you.
Talk
to your security alarm monitoring provider about upgrading your system
to a 4G cellular communicator. We can advise you on the best options
available and help you to choose the right one for your needs.
Schedule
the upgrade as soon as possible. Don't wait until the last minute to
upgrade your security alarm monitoring system. The sooner you do it, the
sooner you can be sure that your property is protected.
Once
your new system is installed, update your emergency contact list to
ensure that we have the correct information in case of an emergency.
